Koro Island lies in the middle of the Koro Sea between Viti Levu and Vanua Levu and is one of Fiji’s least developed and best-kept island secrets. Volcanic in origin and surrounded by fringing reefs, the island rises from white sand beaches through tropical rainforests to a high, waterfall-fed interior – a landscape that has changed remarkably little for thousands of years. Koro is often known as “the fertile island” or the “Heart of Fiji”.

Koro is home to 14 welcoming Fijian villages whose way of life shapes the character of the island today. Agriculture and subsistence farming supply food and work, and deep cultural roots are expressed in song, dance and ritual.
